SQSPL50 Posted October 20, 2015 Report Posted October 20, 2015 I just got this amp in today and I'm skeptical about it. I've seen .5 ohm stable on soundstreams site at 3000 rms. I've seen box openings on youtube and their box also said .5 ohm stable at 3000 rms. My box says 3000 rms at 1 ohm and was printed that it is a 1 ohm minimum impedance amp. It's the 2013 model am I looking at a previous model on those .5 specs because the amp casings on my amp, youtube users and soundstreams site match or could it be some kinda bad misprint? Also said it's 4 gauge inputs instead of 1/0 inputs.
pioneerforlife Posted October 20, 2015 Report Posted October 20, 2015 Hmm, that's odd. I had 2 of them and they were stable to .5 and rated at .5. I ran mine at .25 with no problems. SQSPL50 Posted October 20, 2015 Author Report Posted October 20, 2015 I fit shca inputs into it so that 4 gauge input is out of the question. Have you clamped the output of the amp? I went and looked at the book and it said it was .5 stable at 3000 rms (why it said 1 ohm minimum at 3000 rms on the outside of the box is beyond me), but 2000 rms at 1 ohm but on soundstreams site it said 2500 rms at 1 ohm.. idk man everything is mixed up.

SQSPL50 Posted October 20, 2015 Author Report Posted October 20, 2015 That's probably what I'll do. Problem is I'm running 1 ohm for my current setup, planned on strapping two later at .5 ohm. It wouldn't matter as much if I was running .5 to start with but being that the upgrade is most likely next year.. bothers me a bit to why they can't say this amp does x rms at each impedance and whether it's printed in their manual, on the box, or on their website all the ratings match.
