wildrow Posted October 26, 2015 Report Posted October 26, 2015 Hey, i'm thinking about removing my RF 6x9s and replace them with 8" speakers, but which ones should i change the ones on the rear or the front ones? i have a 07 jeep patriot. any suggestions? http://s394.photobucket.com/user/panchopanteraxv3/media/IMG_0103_zpsbh0l6ucj.jpg.html?sort=3&o=5 http://s394.photobucket.com/user/panchopanteraxv3/media/IMG_0105_zpslr8eyplp.jpg.html?sort=3&o=3
MotorCityFats13 Posted October 26, 2015 Report Posted October 26, 2015 the fronts will help staging and sound better to you... the driver.... the rears are often removed by people that go full active since the have a tendency of ruining staging and they are just a waste of money.... how often do you ride in the back seats of your own car/truck? if you are adding these as midbass drivers then they have to go up front but then you would need to add more front speakers
Hotdog Posted October 26, 2015 Report Posted October 26, 2015 Yea from all the reading I have done is you either have no rear speakers or stay with coaxial's on low wattage for rear fill. wildrow Posted October 26, 2015 Author Report Posted October 26, 2015 oh and yeah i want them for mid bass, and adding more speakers is not a prob i got space. also what kind of speakers do i need? i looked around on ebay and found 8" mid range speakers and 8" subwoofers.
MotorCityFats13 Posted October 26, 2015 Report Posted October 26, 2015 mid-range, mid-bass and subs are for different frequency ranges..... and both mids are not interchangeable.... either run both or only mid-range drivers
