ReeseChamp Posted November 4, 2015 Report Posted November 4, 2015 i was going to go hook up my 4 channel amp with all new speaker wire today and i can do my back doors because its the rubber tube that im used to running wires through, but the front doors have a plug type deal that ive never had to deal with, how do i run new speaker wire through my front doors? cleanly Subs - Dual RE Audio SXX v2 15D4 wired at 1 ohm Door Speakers - RE REX 5x7/6x9 Battery - Kinetik HC 2000 Sub Amp - Crescendo BC2000 Door Amp - Alpine MRP-F300Head Unit - Pioneer DEH-X8600BS
3vil Posted November 4, 2015 Report Posted November 4, 2015 Disconnect that plug from the body/door. Look inside the plug for open or unused wiring connections. Drill a small hole through both sides of the plug, large enough for your wire to fit through. Feed the wire through the body, then the car side of the plug, then the door side of the plug, then into the door to where ever your speakers are. Slowly put the plug back together while gently pulling the slack out of the speaker wire, so that the wire doesn't get pinched or bend any of the pins on the plug. Repeat that all for the other door.

MotorCityFats13 Posted November 5, 2015 Report Posted November 5, 2015 you are drilling the hole so you can pass the wire through... so slightly larger than the wire not stripped
3vil Posted November 5, 2015 Report Posted November 5, 2015 Let's say you had plug like the pic below, you could drill a hole through the unused pin location just to the right of the guys thumb. Then feed the wire (with it's jacket still on!) through that hole and into your door. You have to do this to both sides of the plug, the door side and the body side. It must be the same pin locations so that the wire has a straight path to follow once the plug is all reconnected.
