I have a box design from Joe X that i want to rebuild to use with the Xtrpro152d subs. Played around with Torres box calculator and came up with these parameters. Just would like to bring the box tune down to around 34 hz. Can't really order the sub until i know i can get this done so any and all help is greatly appreciated.

You don't need to do the box 3 net per driver just because it says on the manual, actually many Orion subs are used in larger than the manufacturer recommended, in any case tuning lower will require to make your port longer. But again those subs should work fine in 3.5 net unless you will be overpowering heavily.

actually will be running 10k to the subs. and want to keep the profile low to retain use of cargo cover. And about vent length is Torres fairly accurate? used Subwoofer design toolbox, winisd and Torres box designer and always get different port lengths for a specific tuned frequency. Torres accuracy is usable most of the times but then it fails unexpectedly in some cases like it happened a few threads below, that fail among other leaves me thinking if I should keep recommending it, anyways, at least WinISD is not designed for slot ports so you are not supposed to get same results as Torres because of that and also because Torres miscalculates port displacement, 1-2 Hz error should be no problem though, if you have the driver entered in WinISD you can estimate driver excursion, try to maintain excursion below Xmax at all frequencies for the intended power and box specs, getting above Xmax may result in distortion and pushing further will cause bottoming out.

With most subs you can exceed Xmax by a small amount without breaking anything, distortion will just go up. If you want to decrease excursion though you can decrease the amount of power you are putting to the sub, or decrease the net volume of the enclosure.

Which would you do? gain down the amp or make box smaller. If making the box smaller what size would you suggest and what port length for tuning.
