baron_of_bass
Anybody know anyone of credible t-line designers? Looking for a design for 2 18s for home use. Team Bass-Hz
mcfalcon
[email protected] The guys name is pat stephens. I know he sells blueprints for like $30. I can't say I reccomended him because I don't know but I'm gonna try to dig a thread up where he designed forevrbumpins tline. http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/1828-quarter-wave-t-line-tutorial-updated/page-1?hl=line Still learning but have started gathering. Triticum Agricolam
What 18"s are they and why do you want to use a T-line? baron_of_bass
What 18"s are they and why do you want to use a T-line? I'm thinking of ordering some Fi SSD 18s. I'd like to use a t-line so I have a greater bandwidth than a regular ported box. Team Bass-Hz

Triticum Agricolam
What 18"s are they and why do you want to use a T-line? I'm thinking of ordering some Fi SSD 18s. I'd like to use a t-line so I have a greater bandwidth than a regular ported box. You won't. The whole belief that T-lines have greater bandwidth is a total myth. T-lines can have wide bandwidth or they can be one-note wonders just like ported boxes can. T-lines and ported boxes are a lot more similar than they are different. They are both resonant systems that delay and amplify the wave coming off the back of the cone so that it compliments what comes off the front. Please note that I'm not saying T-lines are bad, or you shouldn't use one, or anything like that. I'm just saying that they aren't magic and 99% of what you can accomplish with them can be accomplished with a regular, well-designed, ported box, and the ported box will probably be a little smaller and lot more flexible in physical layout. If you are serious on using a couple 18"s for home theater use you should check out the DIY section of AVSForum.com, here is a link: http://www.avsforum.com/forum/155-diy-speakers-subs/ Those guys have the 18" home theater sub down to an art form. Some run them sealed, some use them in horns, but the majority are in ported boxes, almost no one uses a t-line (at least not that I've ever heard of). So what are you looking to use these subs for? Music, movies, both? How are you going to be powering them?
