David Jensen Posted November 28, 2015 Report Posted November 28, 2015 Hello - Currently I am running a single DC Level 4 15" (1400w) on a SAZ 1500. It handles this fine, but I was thinking about adding a second sub and upgrading to a 3.5k. From anyones experience can these subs handle that power as a daily?
Clownrock95 Posted November 30, 2015 Report Posted November 30, 2015 Considering for the pair the rateing is 2800 to 5600 (if my brain is awake enough for math) I would say 3.5 would be fine with a clean signal and properly set gains (No personal experience)
MotorCityFats13 Posted November 30, 2015 Report Posted November 30, 2015 by adding a second sub are you currently running at 2 ohm or are you selling the first lvl4 and buying 2 more..... are you going to be able to set these up at 1ohm .... when you say 1400rms on a saz1500.1 sounds like you already have a D2 lvl4 and you will have to sell it and start over

It is wired at 1ohm, I am not sure what you mean by I will have to sell it and start over?

If u have a d2 sub now (2x 2 ohm coils) and you add a second of the exact same, wiring them together will net you a .5 ohm load or 2 ohm load. You won't be able to run at 1 ohm, which means you need to put out the money for something that does 4k at 2 ohms, OR sell your current sub and purchase 2 subs that are d1 or d4 so you can wire to 1 ohm.
