Bayuk89 Posted November 28, 2015 Report Posted November 28, 2015 I have an alpine mrp-m500 amp and one quantum 15" sub in a premade 2.20 cubic foot sealed box. What i plan on doing is getting a sundown SCV-1500D amp and run both of my quantum 15" subs in a ported box. ( and when the budget quantums decide to blow im getting sundown subs ) The quantum 15" are good to RMS 1200 watts and peak 3000. The alpine is only a 500 watt RMS mono block but it powers the one 15" for now till i get the SCV-1500D. I would like some advise on what should i set the LPF on amp for a sealed 15" woofer. Setting now is at 75hz. Being a 15" in a sealed box what they usually cut off at ? This is my first 15" i been running 10" for years and i know they can play a little higher HZ than 15" i just need a starting point, any help would be awesome.

Bayuk89 Posted November 28, 2015 Author Report Posted November 28, 2015 Thank you, this is just temporary right now. Got a deal on the Q3000 15" subs, two for $150. When i first got them i was pushing both 15" with a power akustic BAMF 5500. The amp prolly only RMS 2000 ( out of being rated 2800 RMS )using 4GA wire and big 3 upgrade on a factory 120 ALT but it didnt starve the subs of power, using this alpine im about 500watts under what it rated to handle but i dont think it will hurt anything, i set the gain using 60hz test tone at 75% volume and so far its hitting good. We all got start somewhere beside the sundown SCV-1500D whats another good mono block in 1500-2000 RMS range ? Opinion on Hifonics amps ? ( obviously short of sundown, DD, sound qubed ECT.... )
