TezasBassBox Posted December 16, 2015 Report Posted December 16, 2015 Hey guys I have a kicker comp vr that I would like to use in my boat. The boat is a 1059 Smith Craft. Its a run about/ fishing style boat that I'm rebuilding. I want to place the sub under the deck to hide it from the elements. What size ported should i aim for? I'd rather do an infinite baffle to minimize the extra weight up front. Other cheap sub recommendations are appreciated thanks! Subs don't hit when powered by cheap amps!

I figured I would try to find something with a high sensitivity rating as it would be easy on the power supply. Correct me if I'm wrong. Subs don't hit when powered by cheap amps!
Hugh G. Rection Posted December 16, 2015 Report Posted December 16, 2015 It is an 8 ohm driver, and is not actually a subwoofer. It has a 60-3500 hz range. They are most commonly used for pro audio applications. In a n infinite baffle setup however, they will really produce some good sound through the midbass and typical mid range frequencies. I guess what I'm looking for its something like the old kicker xpl series from the 90s. I still have my xpl 15 setup in my garage. It still sounds pretty good. Subs don't hit when powered by cheap amps!
