mmpannekake Posted December 19, 2015 Report Posted December 19, 2015 I have a question for you experienced guys out there, i have my hands on some aluminum bars that are 18mm thick 150mm wide and 50cm Long, will this be enough to distibute the power for all the amps? Running two dc5k's and about 1kw on mids and highs. Thinking of using them as a gathering point for the wires from all the batteries
kirill007 Posted December 19, 2015 Report Posted December 19, 2015 Yes, the surface area would be 2700mm², which is equal to 25 4/0 gauge wires, or about 50 0gauge wires. At a 1000A draw, you wouldn't even have a 0.02V voltage drop. Thinking is the root of all problems... You ALWAYS get what you pay for.
