Wiring dilemma

Recommended Posts

In the process of upgrading starting battery(OEM) to a AGM. Im purchasing some machined battery terminals for the new battery, the flat style where you affix cables via bolts thru the lugs. So upon further investigation today, I realized I had not taken into account of how to attach the vehicles pos and neg battery cables. So where my dilemma lies is that id rather not hack up the vehicles wiring and attach lugs to it to be able to work with everything. So any input would be nice. Although I have a good feeling im going to have to preform some surgery on the stock cables.

I would need pictures to understand exactly what it is.... but my guess is you have a top post style car but now you have an AGM with sidepost style connections but on the top.... so you connect the custom terminals and add a top post kit to the custom terminals

Im putting a d3400 in, which is top post. Im going to be using machined battery terminals from skyhigh ( http://skyhighcaraudio.com/copy-of-sky-high-car-audio-4-flat-spot-battery-terminals/ ). My stock battery cables have ends on them to connect to a top post battery. Id rather not cut off those ends and have to add lugs, to be able to attach the wire to the terminals. But i feel as though thats the only option.

No problem bro. I thought you meant you had side posts, but once you elaborated it became clear. Those will work great by the way. I use their side post adapters on my Tahoe with no issues. And Showtime sells them for an amazing price under MSRP.
