Jman9112
Hey guys, just looking into swapping in a 350 into my 4.3 full size. It's a 1997, so its "vortec". Wondering how hard it is to swap to a vortec 350 out of a 97/98 truck? Anyone have experience with similar builds, are there many modifications to engine mounts, brackets, ect. Or is it mostly parts and bolts? Thanks in advance for any replies. Ballin' on a budget.
Broke_Audio_Addict
Not very hard at all if you're doing a vortec v8 swap, should be a weekend job. You can even use the stock computer you just need to mod some wires to power the extra injectors. Check out blazer forum, plenty of write ups on it. The 4.3 is essentially a 350 that's had two cylinders chopped off. That being said a lot of people's definition of "music" is a clipped 30 hz sine wave with some 80 IQ knuckle head grunting about committing crimes and his genitals. Broke_Audio_Addict
keep the 4.3 its better That's no fun though. They really should have had a v8 option for these trucks from the factory. Miguels
FI over carb any day of the week.. carbs are a pain to get right and even after being right its only good for a few months then you have to re tune.. people have gained hp and tor even fuel mileage converting to fuel injection.. not that it gives it more power but its more of bad tuning.. bad tuning you lose a lot.. FI you only tune once and no starting issues my logshttp://www.stevemead...-my-new-set-up/my blow through loghttp://www.stevemead...future-updates/ 96 ss http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/164094-96-impala-ss-build/
