Mosley_23 Posted February 3, 2016 Report Posted February 3, 2016 Ok I going to be running a fosgate 1501 bd and a 4 channel amp for my mids and highs. My question is what should I do as far as my electrical goes. What gauge wire should I run? Will I need a aftermarket battery? Stock battery and add a second? Big 3? This system is a daily I'll never do any comps. Its going in a 06 Grand Prix GXP. Stock alt is 135 amps I believe.
ShadeTreeMechanic Posted February 4, 2016 Report Posted February 4, 2016 I would do the big 3 and run 1/0 to the amps at the least. If the lights still dim after that when the bass hits, then I would do an upgraded alternator and then a rear battery in that order. It really depends on what kind of music you listen to and how loud. I'm assuming you want it loud. What kind of subs? 91 C350 Centurion conversion ( Four Door One Ton Bronco) 250A Alternator (Second Alternator Coming Soon) G65 AGM Up Front / Two G31 AGM in Back Pioneer 80PRS CT Sounds AT125.2 / CT Sounds 6.5 Strato Pro component Front Stage CT Sounds AT125.2 / Lanzar Pro 8" coax w/compression horn tweeter Rear Fill FSD 5000D 1/2 ohm (SoundQubed 7k Coming Soon) Two HDS315 Four Qubes Each 34hz (Two HDC3.118 and New Box Coming Soon)
Chris Braun Posted February 4, 2016 Report Posted February 4, 2016 Doing anything more than a 500 watt @ 2 ohm amp, you should do the Big threeeeeee
