Full range class D amp for Subwoofer use?

Why waste the money on a class D full range if you're not going to use all of it's capabilities ??

That's what class D monoblocks are designed for ...

A lowpassed amp can still put out it's full power...

Class D amps are especially a good fit for bass amplification.

Or did you mean something else by 'not using to all of its capabilities'?

To me "Full Range" means 20 htz to 20k htz ... Sub bass is normally no higher than 80 htz musical ...

But then again, I do not use Class D of any kind. I'm an old school class A/B guy and will never change.

I have a DC 3.5K but I saw the clamped results of the DS18 and it impressed me especially for $560 from amazon. Pretty cheap for an amp that does rated power, the ds18 amps rated for 6K. Only downside (or I guess it is) is its full range. I wanted to tune my sub to 32hz (a AA Team 18) so didn't know about the low pass only going down to 50hz...

I don't mind taking a chance on the DS amp and keeping the DC as a backup but was hoping I could get by with the DS18 for the said price and more output.

Low pass filters pass frequencies below their set point. Even tuned to 32hz you'll want your subs should be playing well above 50hz. There should be no reason you'll need to set that low pass below 50.
