Jduncan15 Posted March 3, 2016 Report Posted March 3, 2016 I apologize if this is in the wrong category however I just recently have added another 12" matching subwoofer to my system. Both in the same box same wiring same amp all is well. I have noticed a slight to severe him from the subwoofers whenever I do not have the head unit turned on. When the system is turned on even with no volume the hum is gone. I have checked multiple times my ground is on a good no paint surface (that I can see or feel) it is also a smooth connection no roughness. But the hum is still exsistant. My car is a 2010 fusion so the braided ground wires are not bad yet and I also have not noticed this hum before with only the one 12 running. Is it possible that it is the outline converter? I suspect it is not designed to support the power I am currently drawing which isn't much my amplifier has a max of 900 watts and I'm currently using it at rms of around 450.

Jduncan15 Posted March 4, 2016 Author Report Posted March 4, 2016 I'll go through all the connections again but my head unit is factory thus the need for a line out converter. The amp is wired to have power as soon as my key is turned to run/accessories.
