Speaker wire a vs speaker wire b

It should say 1ohm if you're wired series parallel.

Touch the leads of your multimeter together and read their resistance. That is the number you should take away from each resistance reading to know what the true resistance you are reading.

Disconnect all wire from all subs, and measure the resistance of each voice cool individually. Each should read 2ohm, but may vary some. Remember to subtract the amount of resistance caused by your leads.

If all voice coils are reading correctly, reconnect all wires series parallel, in accordance with this diagram http://www.the12volt.com/caraudio/woofer_configurationsm.asp?Q=4&I=22

Measure final resistance before connecting to amplifier. Should read ~ 1ohm.

Well i just disconnected the spraker wires so i woudnt hear the pop and was going to cruise down the street to the sound shop. Syarted the truck put it in drive and gave it gas amp box poured out smoke. .... Im guessing this amp is toast? Not even two hours of unwrapping it :(

You should have turned off the head unit entirely or removed power from the amp. Some amps don't like being powered on without a load, and apparently yours is one of them.

You can try getting the sub warrantied by SoundQubed, but most times something like that, a company will not warranty a user error.

If they will not warranty it, I'm sure there are ways to repair a surround, just do a lot of searching.

As for the amp, try and warranty it as well I suppose.

Try to take your time when doing things in order to avoid more punctures or other damage. No need to risk spending money unecessarily because you're in a hurry right?

The good news is, puncturing the surround doesn't damage the voice coil, so you can still check the resistance and make sure you get it all wired up correctly before contacting manufacturers about repairs, or searching ways to do it yourself.

Good luck :good:
