Cant find a wire harness

So I fianlly decided to install new radio into my 2007 Dodge Durango and bought all the things I needed. The problem I have is I spliced the radio wires and plugged it all in and nothing happened. After inpecting further I noitced the red wire was plugging into an empty slot into the factory plug which is why I'm assuming it wouldnt power on. I researched for a while on the internet for a wire harness but cant find anything. What kind would I need for my Durango?

Get out your multimeter. With the car car ignition, check each wire on the factory harness until you find the ones with battery voltage. Then turn off the ignition and check those some leads. The one that no longer shows battery voltage is the one you need the red wire from the headunit to go to.

(Don't know for sure but)maybe its like the trailblazers and envoys we don't have switched power or power to the stock head unit its all done via a data line iirc

might check that if 3vil's method doesn't work

you have the wrong harness, the real harness is $100. look in your passenger side kick panel. if there is a factory amp then you definitely need the $100 harness. if not you can get away with the $50 harness

I'll have to find my multimeter tomorrow. All I had was the tool that lights up when you touch the connections and the only ones that lit up were the constant wires. I'll try more tomorrow because I might have to splice some wires if I can't find a harness that works

Any details on this harness? I don't have the factory amp installed it's the base model durango
