mothra Posted March 15, 2016 Report Share Posted March 15, 2016 He is replacing those factory shaker 500 speakers with aftermarket kicker replacements. The factory amp is rated between 20 and 40 watts from what I read and the kickers are 200 RMS. He will need adequate power to them. Head unit is also being replaces with a pioneer avic 4100 so the speakers will need signal and power some how. those kicker replacement speakers were meant as a plug and play swap for the factory door subs. the 200 watts rating is also based on them being in the correct enclosure. the door is not a proper enclosure for subs. I'd installed several of these replacement from kicker and they do their job plenty with just swapping. after you do the install and the owner says he wants more power to them, then cross that bridge. if nothing changes, nothing changes You don't know what you don't know, till you don't know Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
