sinister317 Posted March 25, 2016 Report Posted March 25, 2016 Wanted to do the big 3 in my car but battery comes stock in trunk. Want to know of any good ways to do this.
audiofanaticz Posted March 25, 2016 Report Posted March 25, 2016 Just because the battery is in the trunk doesnt mean you get to miss out on having to buy a bunch of wire, you will need to run it from front to back just like any other vehicle. So depending on the current draw of your system you will need to run wire from your rear battery that is in its oem location of the trunk all the way up to the alternator of the car. I forget what size wire is used from the factory but I think its either 8 awg wire or 6 awg wire that connects your alternator to the rear battery. Either way it is fairly small if you have a decent size amplifier.
sinister317 Posted March 25, 2016 Author Report Posted March 25, 2016 It looks to be like 0/1 ga from alt to a block like thing in my trunk then its 8 ga. Then I'm told it changes when it hits the firewall to 8 ga.
sinister317 Posted March 25, 2016 Author Report Posted March 25, 2016 And I meant from alt to firewall it's 8gu...then 0/1.
sinister317 Posted March 25, 2016 Author Report Posted March 25, 2016 I'm only running bout 1500 rms....nothing big I just prefer not to have the dimming lights.
