Htown B.O.B.
So I'm still in stock alternator 100amp big3 is done but when I turn up volume to where I normally listen my amp will turn off on heavy bass drops. Could it be my alt going out and not being able to keep up.
ALPINE408
get a voltage gauge... I would say bad ground or your alt can not keep up Alts pretty much work or they don't.....I have never had an alt start to go out and start losing voltage Have you ever had your woofers blown? 3vil
More likely it just cannot keep up with the demands you're placing on it. What does your voltage look like when this is happening?
Htown B.O.B.
Would have to put my meter on it to find out. It just started happened maybe a week ago that's the weird thing

Htown B.O.B.
Have a extra agm battery in the back of truck to help out also
Lakeshow94
Check your grounds. I'm on about 3k with the stock alt and two big agms. Mine typically only drops down to 13v on heavy bass but the other day it started going into protect. Turns out one of the shca 1/0 to 1/0 inputs had come kinda loose. Tightened it all back up and it works great. No way that should put that much of a strain on your alt, especialy at 2ohm. 1999 Lexus GS 300 Pioneer DEH-80PRS Singer 240 Amp (Will be installed later) Northstar Group 31 & 24 Sundown SCV-4000 Rockford T400-4 2 12" CT Sound Meso CT Sounds 6.5 Meso Components CT Sounds Tropo 6.
Htown B.O.B.
Put my meter on everything found front battery at rest a little over 13 volts. Checked battery in the back 12 volts turned on truck checked again. Around 14 volts charging in front battery but still 12 volts in the back. Turned it up ave saw it dip into 10's and protect light would start coming on.
Miguels
check the fuse or the connections on the rear battery.. by the way.. no common sense. you see that the rear is at 12v even with the car running and you still turn your amp on my logshttp://www.stevemead...-my-new-set-up/my blow through loghttp://www.stevemead...future-updates/ 96 ss http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/164094-96-impala-ss-build/
