Enclosure for single 12" l7

Don't have tools/ skills to build my own box, all the shops want 250 plus to build one. Atm its in a old kicker built box and well it sounds okish...

Which of these 2 would be better? Is 3hz in tuning a noticable diff? Also is one more foot of air better? Going in a hatchback with a sundown 1000d.

I mainly listen to rap and metal.

Take a look, Yellow is 2@32Hz, red is 3@35Hz;

So red is louder for the same power, if you go with red use your subsonic filter to 30Hz.

You could ask them about the port dimensions but anyways this is why so many people build their boxes themselves.

your going to have a considerable amount of group delay with the 3 ft^3 box and a 35hz tune. not only that once you account for coil temp/parameters shifts its going to have less lowed

i personally recommend 2.5 tuned to 33 with 40in^2 of vent.. you can basically take hat response graph and shift it 5-8hz to your right..

just something to consider.

Decently priced is pretty subjective. You are never going to find someone who builds custom boxes at prefab prices. Like with most things, you get what you pay for.

Thats cool and all, I kinda agree, but I don't want some extravagant box, lol I think 250$ for a box is kinda high, then there's tax on top of that..

Here's group delay:

It looks like it doesn't increase but rather shifts up in frequency (expected), still peaks in the low 30s, It doesn't seem to be too much of a problem in this case.

OP if they reply with something relatively close to 40 square inches of port area I wouldn't expect any major issues at least if the box is appropriate for your vehicle.
