Dakota Railsback Posted May 11, 2016 Report Posted May 11, 2016 I have a 4th order that has 19 cuft on the ported side and 12 on the sealed (4 Separate chambers, 3 cuft per chamber) with 4 oldschool l5 15 solo barics. I have ~700 watts running to each sub and I have been told that if I make the ported side bigger it will help with using the power more efficiently and give me higher numbers, but by another very respected builder in my area I have been told to drop the ported side to ~2.25 cuft per chamber. What do you guys think?

Joe X Posted May 11, 2016 Report Posted May 11, 2016 That ported chamber would need to be a lot bigger for you to see significant efficiency gains, I would try larger port area and play with tuning to find a louder setting, if you want to step up your performance a lot then different subs + more power etc.
