notorious97200 Posted June 10, 2016 Report Posted June 10, 2016 I would not recommend under powering a sub like the zcon. Most subs in that range of power have very stiff suspension and need the rated power just to break it in. When the volume knob is not set to the max, you won't have all the power going to the sub, so underpowering can't be a bad thing. Underpowering is a bad thing ONLY if you're looking for the biggest dB numbers !!! Suspension are stiff, for sure. My Zcon is playing on a 2400 w amp, and the suspension is still stiff after 2 years !!!! And I love my sub ! Good choice : you van choose the Xcon or the Zcon. If you want to save weight, the Xcon will be a good choice.
