gobassheadz Posted June 4, 2016 Report Posted June 4, 2016 Hello all, I'm running into an issue where I am not sure what would be best option. I recently have been re building a system and have horrible light dimming etc, figured out that's what blew one of my amps, essentially lack of power. So I was looking at getting an alternator but no one reliable makes a H/O alt for my eclipse. What's my next option, if I do get more batts I know my alt stock can't handle it and long term I will just cause more issue. Anyone have a helping hand or know a reliable place that would help me with an H/O Alt.?
Clownrock95 Posted June 4, 2016 Report Posted June 4, 2016 Have you contacted any reputable makers directly (mechman singer DC us alternators (idk if iraggi is considered reputable or not ))
gobassheadz Posted June 4, 2016 Author Report Posted June 4, 2016 Yes, been in contact with Mechman, Mathew said no, have email out to singer haven't heard back yet. DC doesn't carry anymore and they said all they offered was a 270 amp one but all I need is like a 160-180 amp one. Believe it or not I did do some digging first haha. I'm assuming for mechman it's just not worth their time, guess I might run into that a lot?
Ahmed Johnson Posted June 4, 2016 Report Posted June 4, 2016 If you have a trusted alternator repair guy have him rebuild yours with a smaller pulley
gobassheadz Posted June 4, 2016 Author Report Posted June 4, 2016 Thanks Ahmed, I didn't really think about that route but if I can do that and not cause over spin that just might be a slight viable option. I can't say I have a reliable shop on hand but through my work we do some dealing with a couple places I might be able to inquire about that at. I'm just lost, this eclipse only comes with like an 85 amp stock alt and with car running anything that goes near or above 500W rms draws the voltage way down, I didn't pay attention before but after I got my sound magus dk1200 and did my big 3 a bit better than I had it I see 11v easy so it's rather obvious my issue is power. Maybe in the end I'll just need to suck it up and only run like a 250W max amp, and this is why walmart and best buy can sell such crap hahahaha Feel like I've wasted so much money now, but I guess that's what i get for not researching hard before hand. Lanzar here I come??? hahahaha
hdorre Posted June 4, 2016 Report Posted June 4, 2016 Two other options are US Alts and JS Alts. Ive got friends who run both.
