Need a box for SPL comp.

Looking for some help with box design. I have 2 JLW7 Hybrid 12 inch subs with PS1 recons they are dual voice coil 1 ohm speakers in a 2006 hummer h3. I compete in the 1000 watt max class. My available space is 19in high 42in wide and 21 deep. Would like speakers up and port back (centered). Currently I have a box that is 36in wide 19in tall by 21in deep with a slot port which is total 26.25 long 3.5 in wide. Put up a 143.2 yesterday at 975 watts on meter. Need more hard to compete with these little cars with that Hummer but I enjoy trying. Any help would be appreciated.

Do you daily drive this vehicle of is it just for comps? and if daily driven what kind of music do you usually listen to?

I drive it off and on not Daily. Usually listen to rap or rock.

Try this, it's 2.5ft^3 per sub after displacement and should be tuned right around 32hz. You may need to play with the port length a little bit to get the tuning right for competition.

big jump in port size makes sense. Whats your opininion on putting 45's in the corners?

Really the only place i would consider putting a 45 would be the corner nearest the start of the port, other than that you should be ok.

I have been meaning to get back on here and thank you for the help with this box. I ended up finishing 4th at end of year finals (Midwest SPL) Hit 146db very pleased at 1000 watts in the Tank (Hummer). Thanks again. I am now building a 97 Jetta for the same class. Same speakers and amp. I will get dimensions this weekend. Would really appreciate help with a box for this car. Thinking Aeroport this time around.....
