Help! 4th Order Build

Recommended Posts

Then how much area am I going to need to get rid of the port noise?

Depending on port shape and configuration, I've measured port noise starting at about 18 m/sec, though it doesn't become really noticeable until you get closer to 30 m/sec. With a 6 cu ft box tuned to 24 Hz on 2400 watts I'd want no less than 80 sq in of port area. The trouble you are going to run into is to tune that 80 sq in to 24 Hz is going to take a pretty wicked long port.

So, what if its a 6cuft box tuned to 26hz with me pushing 1500Wrms? With a square port.

On 1500 watts you could probably get away with 60 sq in, but no less.

Alright then. This should be enough info for me to go forward with my build. Thank you everyone who contributed to my knowledge of 4th orders and helped me with this ported box.

Sorry you couldn't get what you were looking for but that's just the way it goes sometimes. I hope you're able to find some compromise
