Vice03 Posted June 26, 2016 Report Posted June 26, 2016 Any chance you can cancel that order and get a 2 dual 4 ohm or 2 dual 1 ohm subs? I feel like you'd have an easier/cheaper time trying to make power at 1 ohm
welderblake21 Posted June 26, 2016 Author Report Posted June 26, 2016 Thanks for the reply. I'll have one of them on order this week, I also was looking at boxes and I found one specific for these subs but only 6cubes tuned to 33hz and I found one for 2 sa15s it's 8cubes tuned at 33hz. Which one would you go for? Both are nice custom boxes 250 bucks for either one. I'm thinking the 8cubes will be better than 6 for these subs. I have room for either box
welderblake21 Posted June 26, 2016 Author Report Posted June 26, 2016 Unfortunately I cannot cancel the order but that was a mistake on my part getting in a rush I ordered them and didn't even check that until after and realized it's gonna be a real struggle on a budget lol. Like I said it's no rush I'm doing a full build so I'm gonna do it right the first time. So I'll order one amp and if it doesn't do what I want I will order a second amp and run them at 2 ohms.
Mariothadon Posted June 26, 2016 Report Posted June 26, 2016 I'd go with the box specifically for the subs.
welderblake21 Posted June 26, 2016 Author Report Posted June 26, 2016 OK that's what I'll do. I'm trying to make these things give me all they have to give. I shouldve payed attention and ordered the dual 4ohms
Ron36 Posted June 26, 2016 Report Posted June 26, 2016 VFL 120.1 at .5ohms would push those subs hard. 2022 Ford Maverick on 22’s Skar SK1500.1 on 4 Skar VD-8’s Mids Sundown Super tweeters, Skar TX 6.5 components on Skar SKM400.4 LC2 for audio control , XS Power D680 XS Series Extra Battery
welderblake21 Posted June 26, 2016 Author Report Posted June 26, 2016 OK so I sent a email to a rep over at the sonicelectronix and I cancelled the order with a full refund and I'm gonna order the 2 dual 4 ohm xfl15s. So now I should be able to run 1 ohm and make life easier
welderblake21 Posted June 26, 2016 Author Report Posted June 26, 2016 I will check into the vfl120.1 do you think 2 runs of 0 gauge will be to much for 2krms? I want to leave room to double up later because I intend to have 2 more xfl15s and another amp later this year. Honestly I considered running 2/0 welding lead as I have about 150 ft never used laying around
welderblake21 Posted June 26, 2016 Author Report Posted June 26, 2016 The vfl120.1 looks good for that price would I be better off with a sq2200? There a little more than I planned to spend but like I said I don't want to take short cuts on the good stuff. Thanks for any and all replies
