Getting good sound out of cheap Kickers

Recommended Posts

Spent some time tuning my Kicker CS 6.5" components on an Alpine CDE-164BT connected to a P400X4 Fosgate. Really happy with the sound.

Now, can anybody recommend a dope set of up to 100W RMS 4 OHM 6.5" components that have a 2 1/8" or less mounting depth? I was looking at Rockford Power T-165S or T16S.

Kicker 6.5" Composites (Rear) (Running at -10DB for soundstage)

You can use mdf rings to bring the speaker out farther to help with your choice of speakers.

Yeah, but there is only so much space between my door panel grille and the speaker, itself. Have to consider that. I already have custom MDF speaker mounts in place of the stock plastic speaker boxes that hold 4" speakers.
