Factory amp

My car is a BMW 1995 525i and it has 4 mid bass woofer, 2.5 inch mids, and tweeters, they are all factory speakers. They are too loud when i turn my kenwood kdc-mp342u deck up so i could get my subwoofer loud. I went to the factory amp to try and turn down the gains but there wasnt anything on there. So would it be easier to put the mids and highs on the head unit and the mid bass on my sub amp and turn the gains down? My sub amp is a 5 channel mtx 5400x.

Or turn the gain up on the sub. What kind of sub do you have? You probably need a bigger sub with a bigger amp.
