Jessica
you can run a wire to the amp power, just ground close to the volt meter as possible. no need to complicate things. Wannabe
Ok cool thank you I was confused thinking the volt meter would stay on if hooked to power in amp but I have the amps ran to the switch so it will all turn off this is my first build, i have been waiting 4-5 years to have this done 95 chevy 2 door tahoe 5.7 Xs power d3400 Singer 275amp alternator Big 3 - all Knukonceptz Kolossus Fleks 0ga/ knu Fuses an holders Sundown SAE-1500d Mbquart onyx OA800.4 Stinger 4400 series RCAs and stinger volt meter Fi Q NEO 18, 7.5 cubes tuned 32hz Pioneer MVH-X690BS H/U Kicker CSS 6.5 comp sets in front doors Kicker KSC 4x10 coaxials in rear GTMAT and FAT MAT deadner Xenon 10k Blue HIDs
MrSkippyJ
It didn't come with a turn on wire? Personally, I like to know the voltage at my amps rather than somewhere else. Just because voltage at your switch is good doesn't mean voltage at your amps is good too. Low possibility that it is much different but if your wiring starts to come loose or a fuse goes bad or ground comes lose and so on, you will see that at your amps while your front battery might be just fine. It's a small possibility but I want to know the voltage at the end point, not before. ShadeTreeMechanic
When the voltage at your amp seems to be lower than usual, you will know to start looking for a bad connection. Instead of burning up a connection or the amp. Jessica
you could have just used the acc wire on the headunit instead of a switch or remote wire. my point is you are over complicating things. MrSkippyJ
So you never figured out what was wrong with your remote wire?
