Why would they be peaky? for a young basshead like him its ok. at 100hz were at +1.5db by 52 it peaks at +4db gain drops from there with an f3 of right at 29hz group delay never hits over 15ms until you get to 25hz or below. I thought it was a nice balance FOR HIM. personally i would have sold the subs, in fact id have never bought them but were talking about a young high schol student on a very limited budget here. nice young man and i tried to make it listenable without distortion however keep it just boomy enough for him. ckeeler11
that is the WinISD model when put in car that peak will be higher. I hear you though if he listens to bass heavy music only it will work perfect. I did the same for my son. he started off with an Infinity 1262 which prefers a sealed box. i built a ported box tuned to 32 Hz and it did really well for him since he listens to rap but it did have a huge peak in the 36-40 range. He now has 2 Soundqubed 12's in ported box tune to 36 it really hits and does a little better on upper bass. Same boat for him he worked and bought all his own gear. part my recommendation and part stubborn teen not wanting to wait.
