Battery Terminals for Big 3

Recommended Posts

I have stock wires in my car. I am wanting to do the big three. I have everything figured out, except for the Battery terminals.

I have so far:

-5 feet 4 gauge Knukonceptz Kolossus (Stock sized alt, and the terminal on it only accepts smaller lugs. I do not want to cut, to keep the lifetime warranty on it.)

-5 feet 1/0 Knukonceptz Kolossus for the battery neg to chassis, and engine mount to chassis (both will be where the factory ones are)

-Knukonceptz FN-20 Fuse holder with 150 amp fuse.

-Hydraulic Crimper

-Tinned Copper lugs (How many depends on what battery terminal I get, since some have those set screw styled things)

I was looking at the Knukonceptz Ultimate Positive Battery terminal, with the top post adapter to keep my stock wiring. Has anyone used this battery terminal before? Is this a good terminal, or should I go for a different one? I would much prefer a way to not cut the factory connections. How about the Knukonceptz Bassik Positive battery terminal with the top post battery adapter?

Edit: I am leaning towards the Bassik for the screws for ring terminal connections for everything else

Crimp terminals to them and connect to the small bolt which allows the big bolt to hold up to 4 or more connections.

So that connection over the Knukonceptz Bassiks with the top post adapter ( I would put the post on the top so it mounts normally)?

Just, crimping the stock power wires would be a pain, because in my car, they are all bundled in one, and very stiff.

Yes, you would mount like normal.

Crimp the stiffest one by itself and the rest into another which should make it more manageable.

Okay, thank you! Do you have any idea how I could find out what gauge the wires are?

Just realized something else. So, the Stock alt is 105 amps. The fuse in the car (stok fuse box) is 100 amps. Should I go for 100 amp, 120 amp, or 150 amp fuse?

I don't think stock is over 8awg but it is possible to be up to 6awg.

Fuse for the size of the wire you'll be using.
