ZRCamry04
Hi guys, i recently got my headunit changed in my Camry to a Kenwood DPX-5000BT, the factory 4, 6x9 speakers are working but the factory dash tweeters aren't working for some reason after the headunit change. I went back to the shop where i got the headunit changed and they think that either a crossover may be missing, or the tweeters may have blown but they were working previously with the stock headunit, and they will charge me $60 to check and see why the tweeters aren't working. If they find that they did something wrong with the wiring with the head unit change, which i think that's the case, they will waive the fee. What you guys think. Mitchaford
I'd go through all your settings first, something could be turned off. Are they not making any sound at all or just really really quiet? Why would the shop not notice that the tweeters weren't working when they initially put the HU in? 2008 VW Jetta Team Fi 12 CT 4000.1 CT 125.4 PWX 6.5 80 PRS EB Flex 2/0 Second Skin ^^^ Build ^^^
reedal
they probably connected four stock speaker connections to the four available on the HU, leaving the extra for the tweeters disconnected. but without seeing what was done, who knows.... ZRCamry04
Yeah i checked all the settings, played with everything no sound at all Apparently with Toyota's the door speaker wire is linked with the dash tweeters. http://www.automotiveforums.com/t420016-how_to_connect_tweeter_s_on_aftermarket_head_unit_.html This post makes me think something is up with the wiring ^^
