What I'd do for an actual 20% increase in power!! Also the calculations based on 14v a likely wrong also, check your amp's terminals with a good multimeter at full tilt and see what you really get. Also, 20% is a fair amount of power, 200w on 1000w and as you increase the power it gets more and more. I'd want to be as accurate as I can be with my system. How can you multiply that by .8 and be dead on? That amp could push out 75% efficent or 90% and your readings are all off. Once again a rough estimate. Unfortunately I've never messed with one before (I don't even think we have them over here) But I can use typical class D design and atleast give a prediction. You could always contact the manufacturer or check your manuals. A normal class d amp is around 93% efficent as a average. I've never seen that before. I sure as hell know my Class Ds aren't 90% efficiency. How can you multiply that by .8 and be dead on? As I said, it's a prediction. It's better than multplying by 100% and being further out. Never said it was dead on. This being said, I'm not here to convince anybody just to put some word out there. I've got my Digital Designs Z series amps on the way and T40001 Rockford sitting on my floor for a rainy day, they're a lovely amp! On topic though, loading down to 1ohm will certainly prove whether or not your fuse is up to the task.
