Determining head unit volumes

Hello guys, I am a proud owner of a DD-1 since today and read the manual carefully.

I sinply can not wait to try it out, but before I begin I have a question on head unit volume.

The manual recommends determining max volume through your amplifier, I have three amplifiers jn my car.

A Rockford Fosgate T1500bdcp, a t 400-4 and a p200-2. In the manual it doesn't say of it's wise to use your subwoofer

Amplifier to test the 40hz max volume, or your multichannel for full range. Or doesn't it matter?

I can imagine it does, but a requirement is that you play full range in order to tune with a dd-1...

So I'd figure I use my most powerful amp?

 I don't believe it matters because all you're really testing is the output signal from the head unit.  And if they are daisy chain together, then I would connect it  to the first amp in line.  I watch the video from Steve on how to adjust my head unit.

Maybe u could check all three amps and use the lowest volume of the three. Not sure the proper technique tho.

use one of the full range amplifiers and test both the 40hz and the 1000hz signals using the 0db track for each. Which ever one is lower is the volume that you should consider your max. No reason to check with each amplifier.
