Started with a 80PRS.

This is just a small system compared to most on here.  I used Morel speakers for the front stage.  These are their entry level speakers.  I have these located in the stock location of the doors.  I did relocate the tweeters to the A pilar.  While I was doing the stereo I took my A,B, and C pillar, headliner and sunvisors out to be re wrapped.  I could do some of the parts my self, but the B did require 3 pieces of materiel stitch together, and a few other things required some sewing....   I left that part up to a shop.

The headliner was wrapped with a perforated suede, and all other pieces with a solid black

I used dynamat almost every where.....   I did a double layer on the inside trunk lid, under the license plate "panel" ( the whole part of the trunk in between the tail lamps is removable) has a layer of mat also.  The rear shelf was double layered also.  Did the roof, the qtr panels, the rear panel behind the rear seats, but in front of the gas tank....  Yeah this car has the factory gas tank in the trunk....    Removed the factory subs, and just left that open to the trunk.   The doors are matted on both metal panels.   I used NVX power wires...

I used 16g. wire for the mids and tweets.  I didn't use any of the stock wire, ran new into the doors, and up the A pilar.  Using the 80PRS xover to control the amps.

I built a sub box for the spare tire well. The whole trunk is not finished yet....   Still need to make some "finish" panels....   I would like to make a false floor to cover the box, with a opening for the plexi window, and a meshed or grate or something opening for the subs.

The subs consist of mostly a MDF box.  It is double baffled, and the top is double thick.  The back and the small "sides" or whatnot....  Are single thick....   The majority of the bottom and sides are fiberglass.

I started out with some packing styrofoam peanuts, and with some card board made the front and back of my speaker box.....   I knew driver D, and pretty much how much volume my port would take up....   And of course the recomended volume for each speaker......   So some maths, and I took a cardboard box, did some measurements for how much volume said 10" or 12" or 15" of peanuts filled the box, and then poured those in the spare well, decided how close I wanted my speakers firing into the spare well (they aim back at the bumper)  and the rest was hope this doesn't stick way up above the floor....   Its about 3" up above the floor....   Not to bad

RGBs, painted the port, did some bondo flat work and fill n sand....

Little wrap on there....

Pair of DC M38.....   The window is offset in the box.....   The spare tire well is not in the center of my car either.....   So when I build that afformentioned "trunk finish panel" my window is centered in my trunk.....

I wanted to make my amps look floating, but I didn't want to just throw the old stiff carpet gas tank cover on, and have that behind the amps.....   I figured since I was using DC subs and amps, I would make a back panel, that has some ghosted DC logos in it.....   The stencil was a beyotch to work with, and was more expensive than I wanted to spend.....   But I had an idea, and it turned out pretty decent.

I used Gliter Blast paints for this, and the clear they recomended.  I started with a silver base

Those riser areas are for mounting the cap.....

I used Gliter Blast in white and black (they have a fancier name) and the stencil, with a few coats of clear on the base before I hit it with the DC logo.   Then cleared over the whole thing

I made a amp rack out of some 1x1 square stock...  It is more the bones of the rack, as the amps are screwed to wood panels, and those panels are attached with nuts n bolts to the 1x1 structure.  The 1x1 is bolted to the factory gas tank "cage".  I used some ace hardware plastic clamps, spacers, ECT. to hold the wires down.

And that's where I am at....   It sounds real nice.  I really like the features of the PRS.  The DC gear is great, 1.2k on the subs, and a 90.4 for the front stage, and even tho the Morels are entry level, they sound very clear, and accurate.  I think the dynamat and foam rings really helped with mid bass out put from the front.

Everything sounds good.  I am mostly a metal music kinda guy, but still like my psytrance, some rap, and sometimes just like to bass out..  You can see the windshield flex off just these two 8s!!    Some of the notes make my steering wheel jump in my hands, and other things physically move...  This is the most complete stereo I have ever had, if that makes sense.  You know actual amp rack, and the dynamat, and door panels on the car......   All the same car....Haha Haha......

Thanks!!  I am pretty stoked every time I listen to it.  I am screwing around with a S10 that can be seen in a few pictures....   Its all go fast stuff right now.   But I did re wire most of it, deleted the factory fuse box, made my own and moved it to the middle of the truck.  Got rid of the dash!!!   Installed a "hot rod" style heater core blower box.... just for defrost.  And left enough room on the far left and right sides, for about .25 cuft. worth of fiberglass mid bass, speaker boxes.  The dash will be built to be very short, or not really a dash.  So the speakers will be pushed as far forward as I can, gauges will be in a custom "pod" with the tach centered on the steering wheel, and all other gauges going towards the center of the truck....   I think I want to use a Tang band 6" sub left and right, in those pods....  Crossed about 60-300hz, then some 5.25 Morels Integra coax (they don't have a x over) for my mids and highs.....   Probably get another 80PRS, and use the mid frequency RCAs split by a audio control 2 way at that 300hz...   That way the sub RCA can send signal to some sub(s) behind the seat
