GottemGood1214 Posted November 12, 2018 Report Posted November 12, 2018 With them specs given it calculated a sealed box. This is what I found
Joe X Posted November 13, 2018 Report Posted November 13, 2018 Here's the manufacturer's recommendation: From this we supposedly know that Xmax = 25mm, 1 cube sealed box.
SaLvia Posted November 14, 2018 Author Report Posted November 14, 2018 My manufacturer specs box design 45.0 liter @Joe X recommended sealed 1.0ft3 = 28.3 liter i was very hesistant I want to make the most right box when I do
Joe X Posted November 14, 2018 Report Posted November 14, 2018 The enclosure you show is about 1 cubic feet internal volume, the 45 liters or so you mention is the external volume.
SaLvia Posted November 14, 2018 Author Report Posted November 14, 2018 hmm manufacturer specs is right ?
Joe X Posted November 14, 2018 Report Posted November 14, 2018 Most 12" subs will work on a 1 cubic feet net sealed enclosure, however this sub seems to be designed to work in a infinite baffle setup like if you mounted it your rear deck without an enclosure, so the trunk acts as a large enclosure, not a standard one, modelling seems to show the sub needs more space: Yellow is 1 cubic feet net sealed, red is 2 cubic feet net sealed: You see the red plot gets more lows and peaks less and at lower frequency, here's how the sub would perform in an infinite baffle setup: That looks nice to 50Hz except you need to keep 350W - or else.
