Folding a port?

Hi guys, I'm building a cabinet for home theatre duty with an Ultimax 18.  I want to achieve a 17Hz tune, and to do that I need a long port.  I came up with the attached design, which is not to scale.  The woofer is bigger than shown, so I can't just extend the port under the woofer.  Would this work, or are there too many turns in the slot port which would create inefficiencies or other issues? Each section of the port with an exposed end would have the edges rounded off.

It would most likely be okay just not as efficient as it can be. Why not start the port on top edge and then turn down the back where you have it starting now?
