Leiderlife
Hello, sorry if this is a noob question. I have measured my port and I still can’t seem to determine the area. I have a slot port box that has been laying around and I’d like to use it. In order to determine which sub would work best I want to figure out how much area the port has. Can someone explain to me how to measure a slot port and determine the square inches? Thanks!
Triticum Agricolam
Its a slot port so I assume its a rectangle? Port area is just width X height. A 4" high by 15" wide port would have 60 sq in of area. Leiderlife
Thanks. Yes it is a rectangle. So the length is not factored in?
SnowDrifter
Length, when combined with area, is a consideration for tuning and displacements, but not a calculation for port area ~~~~~~~~SAY NO TO PHOTOBUCKET~~~~~~~~ Snow's DD-1 tracks here: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/167433-snows-dd-1-tracks/ My take on OFC vs CCA: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/110381-things-that-piss-you-off-in-the-car-audio-world/?do=findComment&comment=2461444
