2009 Jetta voltage drop with new amps

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone. I recently had my nephew's 2009 VW Jetta outfitted with two amplifiers: Alpine - Power Pack 180W Class D Bridgeable Multichannel Amplifier with High-Pass Filter for his door speakers and KICKER - CX 400W Class D Digital Mono Amplifier with Variable Low-Pass Crossover for a 10" sub. Now he's seeing a voltage drop. Would the Big 3 I keep reading about help with that? Or does he need a bigger battery (battery is new) or a second battery? I've also read that he may need a bigger alternator. So much advice out there and I'm out of my depth so I'm hoping you can help me out.

Thanks in advance!

For such a small amplifier, a big 3 would probably take care of the drop he is seeing.

Hi NorCal SPL,

Is there a Big 3 kit you recommend? I read about NVX XBG3PK and it received great reviews, but it doesn't seem to be for sale anymore. Any help would be appreciated!

Go to gp car audio website. They have great american made wire kits.
