Nice. I'm loving my 8s.

For what I need they do it all and then some. I'm not into SPL or dick measuring about being the loudest. So I just need good deep bass that I can turn down to match mids and highs for my favorite music, Floyd, tool, nin, smashing pumpkins, etcm

But also like to be able to crank it a bit for certain electronic music and some old school rap when I'm feeling "gangsta". Lol

The beefy 8s fill that role perfectly. Only got 2 in right now on a t1500-1, but be damned if they haven't impressed every person I've let hear them

Went through a few brands, American bass, skar, savard and CT sounds

The savards and American bass really are nice. But got a real good deal on the CT meso's and had a bit of an order confusion and ended up with 4 for the price of 2. So getting a box built for the 4 of them.

They are dual 4, but coils read 3.1-3.0 out the box  so 2 in parallel gives me 0.7 ohms mono, which is great given impedance rise.

When I run the 4 I'm considering trying all parallel for .35-.4 ohms if the t1500 can take it. If not series/parallel will give me 1.4 ohms final.

Right now the t1500 bottoms out the 2 when set at 48 volts flat max volume. So I'm sure it'll be enough for 4 of them. Might not drive all 4 to thier max (even though these amps do 3290-3300 dynamic) but the added cone area should make up for a slight drop in power to the subs

I had sum vfl 8s before the hds and I liked the hds better personally. Next choice was the cts tho but couldn't find enuff of a deal to jump on em tho. As far as spl, these monsters broke my window in my truck, sold em to my buddy with same truck and broke his window ( watched a crack go across whole window while letting her rip) and started cracking his new rides window too. I never had a chance to try a hair truck with em in my truck but am pretty confident it'd nice hair, maybe not a full fledged hair truck but still get her done.

Old already, all my old equipment in there still, long since upgraded EVERYTHING.

I'm gonna have to say the window had to have a pre-existing crack or chip.

Still nice subs, but 30 inches of cone isn't much to be breaking windows.

Never know up here ,too much stuff on the roads and these trucks r almost 25 years old already too. Just funny same spot in both trucks crack started , and close to same spot in his Yukon lol. Maybe just flawed spot in window frame too. No one can believe 8s get that low and mean tho.

I missed you said you did it in two vehicles

Now I got to ask you about the box what was the enclosure volume and tuning frequency?

And what amplifier did you have it on?

I want a kind of try to replicate the box at least in terms of enclosure volume and tuning frequency

Oh I believe it can get low and mean.

On my life I've been a 12-inch woofer guy ever since I was 14 years old never had anything other than 12 this last year is my first venture into 8 inch subwoofers and actually anything under the size of 12 and my jaw is to the floor because these things are impressive

mind you back in my days when I was younger in high school we didn't have eight inch subwoofers built like this we didn't even have 12 inch subwoofers built like this really.

Was 3 cubes net, at 32hz on a ppi black ice 7000.1d @ .5 ohms. Used triticums port calculator for port area. Amp puts down right at 3k .  And all growing up u only used 8s when it was the only choice cause they didn't do much but man that's changed ALOT now.
