Ad244 upgrades?

Hello all, I have two stock 145 amp ad244 alternators on my build right now. With my plans this coming year I will need some more juice. I can add a third alternator, which I will probably do. I was wondering if there are any affordable internal upgrade pieces for these alternators to diy build them for a small to moderate bump in output, or is it really more cost effective to just pony up and buy alts from an aftermarket company? If there are parts, where might I find them, and what sort of output might be achieved?

Just a single 370 amp or 390 amp alternator would be good for an upgrade and that would outdo 3 of them 145 amp alternators. Or you can get 2 240 amp or 270 amp alternators. There are external regulators you can use to up your voltage but it has to be compatible with that alternator. They don’t make external regulators for them stock alternators. So there isn’t much you can do to them alternators. So go high output. Mechman, dc or singer are the best. But if money is tight then go JS, ces or iraggi. If you don’t see an alternator that fits your vehicle on any of their websites, then email them and request a special build for your vehicle and make sure you tell them make, model, year model and engine size and desired amp size of alternator.

:stupid:“How can we help you?”

“And don’t forget to tell them that
the customer isn’t always right.”

I was kind of figuring I'd have to pay the piper on the alts. Just really didn't want to have to spend the extra few hundred. Especially if i could find some heavier duty parts inexpensively to give the stock alts a bump up in power somewhere up from the stock 145 to between there and 200. Figured I would need at least 2 240's(going off of mechman's offerings), which is $600 right now, if not more. Those would be roughly 280 at idle and 480 max hot, versus the 3 stockers with roughly 270 at idle and 435 max hot.
