I have 2 10 jl w6v3 on HD 12000/1. Looking to do a 4th order box that's for everyday musical but I mostly listen to rap. Wanting to know how much to do sealed and ported and how much port area, port length, and port tuning.

2012 Acura TL. Im not too worried about the area as it will take my whole trunk. I am trying to figure out the net volume I need for the sealed and ported section, how much port area I need, port length, And gonna aim tuning around 44 to 48 hertz. I called JL Audio and this is what they recommended but it doesn't seem right to me.

This is net volume from JL techs

Sealed 1.1
Ported 1
Port Length 18 in
Port area 30 sq in
Port tuning 60hertz

I need measurements (height, width and depth) of where the enclosure is going so I can design it. The sealed section plays low frequencies and the ported section plays higher bass frequencies. The tuning of the port is where it’ll peak at. The best peaking frequency is 45-46hz. Not below 45hz and not above 46hz. I tune the 4th order enclosures I design to 45hz, sometimes a few points over but never above 46.0. I stay in the 45hz area. It’s best for a 4th order enclosure. Trust me.

:stupid:“How can we help you?”

Well my trunk has a step to it but I'm going to build around it to maximize volume. For a general idea of my trunk I'll give you dimensions without the step. 30w 15h 20d

I would like the port firing down the ski pass. I am also like the sealed section facing the opening of the trunk with the motor in the sealed section. Like the picture below. The picture below has the con area in the sealed. I want the opposite

Does the back seats fold down or have a square hole in the middle where the arm rest is?

Back seats do not fold down. It has the ski pass through the middle of arm rest

Send me the width and height of that pass through. That’s gonna be the blow through and port placement.
