meade916
Finally got this done. Been meaning to for years but while i was re-making my alternator bracket with the shroud off, one look and i knew it was time. Ive never done it before and word on the street from people who KNOW...the OEM fans from a newer year Escalade or Denali and factory the wiring harness is the way to go. So i called up my good bro Brandon from Bigtyme Auto Electric here in Sacramento. He got all the parts and stopped by a few days ahead of schedule to get it handled for me. Could i have done it. Yes. It would have taken me 5 times longer or more because i have never done this before. Now that i have seen him do it, it might take me 3 times longer than him. He has done this a lot, he specializes in this stuff. And he is a friend. I LOVE hiring friends to do stuff THEY specialize in. Especially if it makes my life easier and puts a few bucks into THEIR business. So that is the short and sweet on why i didn't do it myself. Ive known Brandon for years and i know what i am getting when he shows up! And he didn't disappoint! This big messy harness gets stripped back to it's roots...just needs the relay harness for the fans themselves. I think it is the entire headlight harness though to start with. They were dusty but i cleaned em up some. The harness is almost done. Look at that ugly old fan compared to this one! WOW! After installing it, the ECU needs to be flashed so the fans turn on when they are supposed to and all that good stuff. LOTS of steps involved...more than i care to do. So i KNOW i called the right person! Everything is working perfect. I think i will make a little video of it and upload it soon. Thanks again Brandon! 1 Quote All SMD products + MORE available at my store here! https://wccaraudio.com/ Subscribe to My Youtube Channel! Over 1,000,000 subscribers strong! NickAdams65
I did this to my truck with the Flex a Lite 282 kit. It supposed to move more cfm than the factory fans. I replaced the ac pressure switch with a 3 wire pressure sensor and used the EGR 5v to work it. In doing that, I can tune both fan stages to come on at set head pressures. I attached the wiring diagram I drew to build mine off of.
