Jcoleman134 Posted May 15, 2008 Author Report Posted May 15, 2008 Yeah, its just such a pain in the ass to build here. i have to get my wood cut a home depot and pray everything is the right measurements. i live in an apartment so its kinda hard to do a lot of building here.
Chris D Posted May 15, 2008 Report Posted May 15, 2008 Yea my best results were port back sub back in my olds. On the getting warm thing, it could be the box volume being too much. Also what is the RMS of the sub and how many watts are you feeding it.

Also what is the RMS of the sub and how many watts are you feeding it. Thats exactly what i was thinking about the box. RMS on the sub is 1000 and thats what im feeding it.

Even though an 18" in the trunk is just...how do I say not really right when you can have 2 12"s most likely get louder anyway. But the only thing I would suggest is trying to seal off the trunk and make it as loud as you possibly can.

But im gonna try and see if i cant seal off the trunk today and see if that helps any.

But im gonna try and see if i cant seal off the trunk today and see if that helps any.I deffintally think it should, because the air pressure is giong into the trunk and not towards the front w here the meter etc listener is. The larger the air space the harder it is to get louder and compress the air, so making it smaller is a plus.

Yeah i think thats why its a little louder facing the trunk because all the sound pressure is building up in the trunk and then it comes out. We'll see what happens later when i try sealing it off.
