Don't you love it when a project comes together like you planned?  Everything is smooth, flush, and fits like it should?  Yeah, so do I.  So much so, I just wanted to share the newest project on my list.  The wife asked for a little bump in her ride.  I scored a Skar VD-8 off of FB Market Place.  Built a sealed enclosure, and a small amp rack.  Long story short, thought the sub was bad due to a strange noise.  Ordered two more (because it was financially smarter to order a two pack) with the idea to replace the busted one.  Turns out the sub wasn't bad, but not only was the box a shitty design, but more importantly the LOC was absolute shit!  Lesson learned, don't use those cheap amazon LOC units.  I've ordered a proper Audio Control LC2i.  Also I didn't realize it at the time, but I had a small air gap under the speaker and the baffle because the websites specs weren't correct.  So now I have three subs.  And we all know that subs are like guns...when there is just one extra part, you have to buy the rest.  So I went out, got a couple more sheets of mdf, ordered a 1200w amp, and got to building.  I have done the proper research on this new box, and I am ditching the sealed box all together.  Never had much luck with those anyways.  Without looking at my spec sheet, this box is about 3 cu/ft gross volume, and I will be tuning it around 36hz.  I am using aero ports so that I can adjust the tuning if I don't like it.  Needless to say, I am taking my damn time putting this thing together.  And buddy is it paying off.  Everything is fitting perfectly, and so flush.  Just had to share it.
