Anyone know how efficient these amps are and if they are good below 1 ohm?  Can they do .50 ohms?

I'm using 10 x 5k vulcans at the moment, I have also clamp tested the vulcan 8k.

 

From what I've tested @40hz :

- 5kw @3ohms (~13.8v)

- 7kw @2ohms (13.5v)

- 9.5kw @1ohm (13v)

 

0.8ohms it goes into protection mode

 

So to answer, I do not recomend that type of amplifier if your impedance AFTER RISE is under 1ohm.

 

If you wire to 0.5ohms, you'll have probably above 1ohm after rise.

Well im just going to be using it for burps at 1 ohm on my dual 2 ohm fi sp4 v 2.1 18 inch subwoofer so id need the 2 ohm version and run it at 4 ohms daily.  (id have to turn the gains down also)  I also want an amp that big thats able to do under rated ohm if I ever decide to go bigger daily.

I decided im just going to go with the one ohm version.  No sense in beating the amp up or possibly blowing it up.  Ill just sell my taramps smart 3k and some where down the line my sound stream dtr amp that makes 3500 watts at the designed .50 load.

Now its been brought to my attention that my coils on my sub are 1.4 ohm so im going with the taramps md 8k which i saw a guy on youtube running at .50 daily plus its a tad cheaper as well.  And I can buy it here local which is great.
