BboyTaktix
Just now, Dafaseles said: Sweet! Still going to do 2 10's? Yessir put the order in for two of them - about $120CAD more total. Those should bump real good at 800wRMS total - their sensitivity is a bit lower (I believe around 76 dB @ 1w/1m) but my clarion has plenty of power to give to them. Guy who helped me out over the phone said he didn’t much like the ones I originally ordered, and that these are far better built and definitely worth the premium especially with the discount they were able to give me. Well my budget ended up a little higher ($800cad total for the two subs, 1/0gauge wiring kit, sound dampening sheets and foam wrap) but I’d rather do it once and do it right and enjoy living with it for a few years. side note - the speakers you linked seem to be discontinued and hard to get here in Canada so I may go for the « newer » equivalent version (or whatever I can find around 60w RMS in that range): https://ca.jbl.com/Club6522-.html 2018 Golf R - Stealth SQ system build - C508GTI front (active), 2x Pioneer Z10LS4, Zapco DSPZ8, Clarion DPX11551 (Mono amp), Pioneer GM-D8604 (front stage amp), Pioneer GM-A3702 (rear fill amp) SOLD! 2011 Subaru STI - 'modest' passive sq system - JBL p660c component (front) JBL P662 (rear) JBL W10GTI (sealed enclosure) 4ch JBL GO1004 (150RMSx4), Clarion DPX11551 mono amp (+-1200RMS@3ohms)
Dafaseles
Well, a higher wattage handling speaker would compliment that pioneer amp well. Here's a couple more ideas, if you can get them. I don't know if you have Amazon or Crutchfield where you are in Canada without some crazy shipping fee. I don't know how that works https://www.crutchfield.com/p_20646CC674/Kicker-46CSC674.html?tp=78072 https://www.crutchfield.com/p_107DB652/Polk-Audio-DB-652.html?tp=78072 https://www.crutchfield.com/p_1131696PS/Kenwood-KFC-1696PS.html?tp=78072 https://www.amazon.com/Polk-Audio-DB652-Ultramarine-Speakers/dp/B01EXOTD56/ref=mp_s_a_1_17?dchild=1&keywords=6.5+coaxial+speakers&qid=1629262187&refinements=p_36%3A1253505011&rnid=386442011&s=electronics&sprefix=6.5+co&sr=1-17 As far as the subs go, they are a definite upgrade! They should sound really good! Usually, lower sensitivity speakers are more geared toward sound quality, so I think you made the right choice upgrading 2011 Chevy Silverado under construction My build log here. Check it out! We finally got prime here tho and use it all the time for quick shipping! ill take a look at the speakers you sent and compare specs vs price/availability and make a good choice. BboyTaktix
OK, here are the options I have available (crutchfirld Canada): 1) Kenwood KFC-1696PS you mentioned (100W RMS) $99: https://www.crutchfield.ca/p_1131696PS/Kenwood-KFC-1696PS.html?tp=78076 2) Hertz DCX 165.3 (60w RMS) coaxial $99; https://www.crutchfield.ca/p_301DCX1653/Hertz-DCX-165-3.html?tp=78076 3) Hertz K165 (75w RMS) components $99: https://www.crutchfield.ca/p_301K165/Hertz-K-165.html?tp=78076 After that it jumps up to the $140 range for lower-powered Rockford, and a pretty nice set of Hertz components: 4) Hertz DSK 165.3 (80w RMS) component speakers $144; https://www.crutchfield.ca/p_301DSK1653/Hertz-DSK-165-3.html?tp=78076 Not sure if any advantage going with component speakers since OEM rear door speakers are in fact component speakers maybe a little more enjoyable if I have rear passengers - but I could easily disconnect the rear door tweeters when installing the new system. 2018 Golf R - Stealth SQ system build - C508GTI front (active), 2x Pioneer Z10LS4, Zapco DSPZ8, Clarion DPX11551 (Mono amp), Pioneer GM-D8604 (front stage amp), Pioneer GM-A3702 (rear fill amp) SOLD! 2011 Subaru STI - 'modest' passive sq system - JBL p660c component (front) JBL P662 (rear) JBL W10GTI (sealed enclosure) 4ch JBL GO1004 (150RMSx4), Clarion DPX11551 mono amp (+-1200RMS@3ohms)

Me personally, I'd just go with the kenwood coaxial speakers. Plenty of RMS and I've never had kenwood speakers that sounded bad. Component speakers in the back are kind of pointless. Yeah, if might sound a little better for the rear passengers, for you, the driver, it's just rear fill. You won't really be able to tell a difference for a considerable jump in price. That all being said, any of those options will work, of you'd prefer to go a different route 2011 Chevy Silverado under construction My build log here. Check it out! After that, swapping out the LC2i with LCQ-1 will be literally a 10min job and give me much more adjustability. 2018 Golf R - Stealth SQ system build - C508GTI front (active), 2x Pioneer Z10LS4, Zapco DSPZ8, Clarion DPX11551 (Mono amp), Pioneer GM-D8604 (front stage amp), Pioneer GM-A3702 (rear fill amp) SOLD! 2011 Subaru STI - 'modest' passive sq system - JBL p660c component (front) JBL P662 (rear) JBL W10GTI (sealed enclosure) 4ch JBL GO1004 (150RMSx4), Clarion DPX11551 mono amp (+-1200RMS@3ohms)
