SETX Machineworks
I’m new to forums , hope on the right thread . I have a 2015 Ford F150 supercrew with the 2.5” seat lift . I’m running to 2 RF T1500 Bdcp. I’m in limbo about running 2 Sundown U 10s or 4 Sundown U 8s . If I go 4 8s I’ll have around .75 sqft per sub after displacement . Box will be tuned@ 32 hz with 42 sq/in of port area . Does this sound right
Joe X
You are using max net volume and will go above rated power, I'd use at least the 12 square inches of port area per driver, Haven't modeled those subs yet though.
SETX Machineworks
Hi there - Thanks for responding Sundown recommends 12 - 16 inches of port area per sub. So do I need at least 48 sq/in of port area. Do you recommend maybe trying area port or stick with slot port .Just did some math 48” sq/in port area tuned to 32hz port length is around 33.39” long does that look right . Thanks again Happy Thanksgiving
Joe X
You're welcome, 48 square inches of port area should be fine, the box should be 0.75 x 4 = 3 cubic feet net, A 3 common wall slot port 33.4 inches in length would tune you to about 33Hz.
