i was actually wondering about Orion amps myself, how are they as a brand?

[Twigz]

Orion puts out the rms the amp is opposed to do and their very efficient, n a lot of people used em back in the day for comps =P

[SteelCityGhost]

Orion was one of the top 2 or 3 amps all throughout the 90s. They do rated power, and like my man said, they won many, many competitions back in the day.

[Applejack]

okay...but now days, how do they rate? i know some companies get bought out and get shat on when it comes to quality after the fact. Im ampless atm, so im checking all my options...ps sorry to thread jack.

[lance_aka_64]

nice price too. why are they selling the old ones? not that it's a bad thing tho... they were the best ones.

[SteelCityGhost]

Still very good amps, but not quite like the old school. But then again, most stuff isn't as good anymore. U.S. Amps was top of the line back in the 90s as well, and the AX and MD series still are. But they still don't come close to an old school U.S. Amp from back in the day.

i use to have2 orion 2500d strapped to 4 powerbass sx15's

[n8ball2013]

Ok Orion was bought by DEI. The same company that makes alarms and all that good stuff. the orion 2500s would do rated power and then some. If you have the electrical for it it would take a .5 ohm load daily and some people had success burping them even lower. .375 or so. They are NOT really strappable and were seriously unstable if done so. Also if you are running multiple 2500s do not use the pass through rcas as it would cause problems. Use Y splitters instead and everything should be a ok. I have 4 of these still so I do know a thing or two about them.
