My bro found this amp in a house he bought, not tested it yet to see if it works but will get round to that this weekend.

cleaned it up since it was very dirty.

are these amps any good or they just junk that doesnt even make rated power?

i remember these... good for something small... single 10/12 maybe a pair of 8s. i wouldnt expect to knock the block down with it, but if it works it should put a couple hundred watts out

turns out there is a fault with this amp. had a speaker connected to it and as soon as amp is powered on the speaker cone is pulled down and stays down unless amp is powered off. keep amp powered on too long and speaker smokes. good thing im testing it with used old speakers from junk yard and not my main sub.

not sure what this fault is or how it can be fixed. fuse doesnt pop on the amp either. and i used a 10amp fuse to be on the safe side.

youll spend more time and effort than its worth fixing that amp. sometimes thats just the way it goes. when you tested it were the RCAs plugged in?

no, i didnt plug in the rca's, just had the + and - connected to a car battery and one 4ohm old car speaker connected up.

i like dabbling with electronics in my spare time so may give it a go at some point to see if it can be fixed. the gain knob being set at max was probably a good indicator of how the previous owner ran this amp.

I found your post while looking for this exact amp, because of how powerful the one I had was. It's definitely a cheater amp (severely underrated).  I hooked it to my awt15x just messing around, it pushed harder than an old 1000 watt lightning audio. Nothing crazy, but it would loosen my sunroof hinges if the windows weren't open and rattled the glass out of my side view mirrors.  One thing, I did modify the main fuse circuit because it had a poor connection and kept popping fuses.
